Remembering the one Hades and Persephone fanfic retelling I read where the author had clearly never eaten a pomegranate in their life and just had the character in the Persephone role take a bite out of the side like an apple
was chatting w/ my mom who works with kids about how creepypastas that were popular when i was 12 have only become moreso, and she hit me with ‘ugh i know they won’t stop telling me about jeffrey the serial killer.’
if meryl and milly were men everyone and their mother would have seen ship art of them. but because theyre wemon they havent taken over this website
i think people need to cede less ground to others when addressing "concerns" about public sex imo. like, i think people are overly-cautious in some regards? idk like if im fucking someone in a park at 11 pm and you stumble upon us it straight up is not my problem because the park after hours is for doing drugs and having sex
[rubs temples] delusions does not mean a pipe-dream or you wishing for something to be true, it is very bad that people are using it to mean that way. delusions refer to a very specific mental health symptom that is … actually pretty intense to fucking deal with. you all can’t handle being in the vicinity of a psychotic person without calling the cops on them but now you want our language to appropriate? get fucked, man.
Just so we are clear:
A delusion is when you have a firm belief in something that is not reality and you cannot stop believing that thing despite firm evidence to contradict it.
Some common examples are:
- Believing you are being persecuted in some way despite no evidence of persecution and lots of evidence that you are not being persecuted.
- Believing you have some ability or authority that you do not have (for instance believing that you are a God), despite evidence that you are a human without the ability or authority.
- Believing that you are dead, despite all evidence that you are alive.
- Believing that people you care about have been replaced by imposters, despite all evidence that they are the same people you have known for years.
- Believing that someone is in love with you, despite all evidence that the person is not in love with you and may not even know you.
These are just a few examples, of course, but it’s a psychological issue that people deal with. It’s very specific. It’s not just “wishful thinking” or whatever.
